Scrappy share

I've actually been creating over the last couple of weeks ... but 3 of the LO's I cant share with you unfortunately. 2 of them are for the February Stuck?! Sketches samples and the other 1 is for my application for the next Creative Team term over at Stuck.

But I can share a LO I did just after Christmas for the little Happy Scrappy New Year competition we ran over at Red Earth Scrapping.

The criteria was to create a LO using a photo/s from Christmas 2011 and use NON-christmassy papers and embellies. Hidden journalling was also a requirement and the bonus item was "something sticky ..." which was of course stickers!

That was the first of 5 challenges. The next was a treasure hunt, then my fabulous CT girls Amanda and Susanne presented another 2 scrappy challenges and finally the last one, from me, was a set of cards using scraps, based on a similar theme/style AND the bonus item of "love makes the world go round" which was hearts or a similar symbol of love - the word love was also ok.

So here's my set of 3 cards using all scraps and odds and ends sitting on my desk - the only new thing was 1 sheet of c/s (allowed).

(aarrgghh, blogger is not playing nice and wont put the third card image in here, sorry)

Hopefully next time I'll have some more creative goodness to share ... I'm currently working on Wedding Invitations for a customer so maybe I'll show a sneek peak of them too 'eh.

RES update

Red Earth Scrapping how has a new FACEBOOK PAGE!!! Yes, we have both a group (for the chatty sort of stuff) and now a page as well where the details of what's happening, what's new plus a few other activities will take place.

So I'd love it if you would head on over to our Facebook Page and "like" us today.

I'm doing prize draws at 50, 100, 150 and 200 "likes" ... we made it just over the 100 mark in a little over 24 hours which was fantastic but we really need to push it up to 200 now. So, 2012 is here. And this is the year for US, Marty and I and our children, Caitlin and Ciaran. It's for us as a couple, as a family and for us in our farm business. I dont have a word or phrase as such for the year ahead as many people do, neither do I have any NY resolutions, but rather a focus for us, on which our choices and decisions will be based.

Here's to US in 2012!!!

We brought the new year in camping and water skiing at Grabine (Wyangala Dam) with our besties. 3 fabulous days and nights of fun, friendship, laughter, outdoors and NO HASSLES!!! Bliss ...

We were able to put the camper trailer to proper use (not just the 1 night we put it up for on the way home from having picked it up in Melbourne way back in March!) and had a terrific spot.

And the exciting thing was Ciaran skiing!!! So proud of our little man.

Yes, and Mummy had a go too, manage to get up first go and stay up so that's good enough for me!

Ciaran had another go the next day and got it too. He was a little scared and carried on a treat (while still holding on and skiing beautifully, mind you) and when he came back in and asked what was wrong, he realised that nothing bad happened and it was actually fun! He was so proud of himself though.

Each evening as the sun started to set we'd pack up from down by the water, shower the children, cook a yummy but simple BBQ dinner and salad and then settle in for a few quiet drinks and talk until late. On NYE we got the kids to bed and got the cards out ... and a bottle of Baileys ... and a bottle of Butterscotch Schnapps ... which 4 of us demolished in less than 2 hours!!! We had the giggles up playing cards, we counted down to midnight, hugs and kisses all round then it was back to cards and finally bed.

Gosh it was fun and thankfully no sore heads in the morning.

So that was our short but very sweet little break away.

Stash Stomping

Over at Red Earth Scrapping one of my Creative Team ladies, Susanne, presents us with a monthly "stash stomper" challenge and I recently had a burst of creative energy and was determined to put a dent in my stash of scraps. All the following LO's and cards are created purely from my pile of off-cuts (oh, with the exception of a few sheets of c/s, but that's all, I promise).

And the quick cards using the scraps of the scraps ...

This LO was using some pretties from RES I'd been holding in my stash for a little while, just waiting for the right creative juices to flow and come up with a plan to use them. So here's what I created using the Glitz papers and other lovely bits and pieces from my stash ...

Retreat

Just what the Dr ordered ... a girls weekend away SCRAPPING!!! Ahhh, bliss ... I could have stayed at least another day, I was really finding my scrappy groove and having a wonderful time with my special, dear friends, Michelle and Natalie. But alas, all good things must come to an end.

But here's some pics of what I managed to create on the weekend at Wisemans Ferry. Actually did 7 LO's but 2 I cant show you yet cos they're for the Stuck?! October sketches. I also did 2 mini albums will share them another time (if I remember LOL).

Yes I know the pic is missing from the LO above ... I haven't yet printed it but it's a pic of Ciaran when he learnt to ride the PW50 all by himself (and has been going great since).

Cant wait for next year's retreat ... Marty even said I should go every year, maybe even twice LOL, but only so he can get "points" for his boys/motorbike weekend away. Not that I'd ever stop him but hey, if he says I can go to a scrappy retreat each year then I'm there!!!

Oh one last photo which I know Michelle and Nat wont like but hey, I think it's cute and besides, I already put it on FB.

My baby, Caitlin, turned 7 this month - OMG ... SEVEN!!! Gosh she's growing up.

Her birthday fell on Fathers Day which she found very amusing for some reason, Daddy would have to share his day with her day! We started off with presents for Daddy but then the day was all hers. She got loads of presents of course and we had the family over for a long, relaxed lunch/afternoon.

Can you believe it? Red Earth Scrapping is one year old!!!
WOW, how exciting to have come this far in the journey ... here's to many more years of sharing this fabulous craft with my special RES members.
Make sure you check the forum for details of the various birthday celebrations happening throughout the month.

Speaking of birthdays, we just celebrated Ciaran's 5th birthday here on the 29th July ...

We had a quiet day at home and I made his cake request, the "Huff & Puff" Dragon from the good ol' WW Birthday Cake book then our friends joined us for dinner (spaghetti bol was the birthday boy's request). On Saturday we surprised him with more birthday celebrations, a family day out to see Cars 2 at the movies (his very first time to the movies actually) ...

and then had lunch at the Hogs Breath Cafe, followed by a quick bit of shopping and then a lazy night at home watching the original Cars movie.

On Sunday we spent the day riding motorbikes around our farm with friends having a fabulous, fun time. We are so proud of Ciaran finally mastering riding the PeeWee 50 all by himself.

He'd been busting to get going on the motorbikes himself but our little 50cc has a bigger frame than others so he couldn't quite get the hang of it comfortably so we used our friends' and he got it. He rode around the yard (grass) first then was so confident he roared up and down the driveway with the other kids. He was actually a little too confident and we had just finished saying so when he had a great big stack! Minor injury to him and the bike but all ok and he doesn't seem frightened off so he'll be back riding as soon as he can I'm sure.

The other stack of the day was from yours truly (sorry, no photos but it would have been a winner on Funny Home Videos for sure) ... I was on the PW50 and didn't corner too well so the bike went one way and I went the other with an impressive swan dive and face plant. A few pretty bruises on my knees and a little embarassed but otherwise I'm ok LOL.

So I know it's another post with no scrapping but these new photos will be scrapped as soon as I get a chance (the mojo is always good when there's fresh material to work with) ... and next time I will have some very happy scrappy news to share. See you then ...

Great weekend away!

How the other half live 'eh! WOW, hubby and I have just been treated to an amazing, fabulous weekend in Sydney at the Rugby (Wallabies vs Springboks) and treated like VIP's the whole time.

Hotel, fine dining, endless drinks, great company and platinum tickets ... everything included for us ... we were quite humbled and very appreciative of the whole experience and cant speak highly enough of the time away.

And in case you follow the rugby here's the match review. The whole weekend was a wonderful experience and made even more enjoyable because hubby and I do follow the rugby (Marty used to play rugby).

Hmmm, so no scrapping to share once again ... whoops, sorry. But I just thought I'd do a quick blog about this experience ... oh, and I kept the tickets etc from our weekend so I can SCRAP a page about it of course. Even Marty handed me the program and menu to keep! I've got him well trained hahaha.

... to those precious people who left me some lovely, encouraging comments on my recent "sad" blog posts.
I do appreciate it, thank you so much.

From now on though I will just be posting scrapping/creative related things here on the blog - I am well aware that blogs, FB and other internet social media type things are absolutely not private, I know that, but it seems some of my private ramblings, letting off steam etc have been taken the wrong way by some and created havoc in my personal life. I am not happy about that but perhaps it is lesson learnt.

Anyways, so on to creative things ... well I've got nothing to show you this post LOL! I've been away with the kids in Brisbane with my family and during that time I made only 1 card (for my Grandmother's birthday) but I forgot to take a photo doh!!!

So I'll be back another day with (hopefully) some pretties to share.

This one is my sample LO for the Red Earth Scrapping Road Trip competition. We "visited" Tennant Creek in the NT during week 4 on the tour.

Any idiot can face a crisis ...

... it's this day to day living that wears you out!!!

Yes, that is my phrase of the moment and oh, how true it is!

No!! Stop!! Enough!! Apart from the fact that I shouldn't be disclosing personal business here, it does me no good at all to whinge and whine. I have to buck up, deal with it, and make the most of what we DO have.

And that is each other. And we have a roof over our heads (for now, haha) and we are warm and well fed (even if it is all home brand LOL).

And I am blessed to have a wonderful hobby I can still pursue (albeit with no new purchases of course) and that creative outlet - when I have time - is a godsend.

So here's what I've squeezed in over the last few weeks, creatively speaking ...

This grungy LO was inspired by a sketch challenge over at Twiddleybitz actually and I really enjoyed doing this page, something a bit different for me and it was challenging to keep the grungy theme happening and find the right embellies but I think it turned out ok in the end.

I also joined in the card swap over there and made this one ...

This next page was actually for Mistra's May Challenge over at RES ...

And I whipped up a couple of "just because" cards using up those scraps ...

Totally non scrap related, these are the newest members of our family (and they're gonna have to learn to feed themselves pretty fast cos the current cash crisis is squeezed even more having to now buy cat food LOL). Aren't they cute? even for farm cats? They are brothers - the kids named one each, Darkie and Sammy - and they are for mouse hunting. I hope they're quick learners.

And there's been some seriously cold and horrible weather lately too ... including a few ripper frosts like this one.

And back to the scrapping ... a few pages to get those pics scrapped, memories recorded and stash used!

Ok so I'm off to finish cleaning and sorting out this office/scraproom, have a bite to eat and if I can drag myself out of the money doldrums I might try and get creative again.

I made some vague comment last time I blogged, I believe, about doing it more regularly ... so I organised for Windows to pop up with a reminder each Thursday morning. So far so good, except it is now afternoon, and I really dont have time ... bit sad really.

But here's why ...

The house is a mess (yes it is, really, and no, I'm not going to ignore it cos that will then make me cranky having a dirty, unorganised

I have just finished doing some (not all I wanted to but some nonetheless) farm office work ... which was scheduled for yesterday (one of my kid-free days) but which I didn't get to do because I ended up helping hubby pull the tractor and spray rig out of a bog ... which incidently I didn't mind doing and really quite enjoyed a wee bit of tractor driving, especially when I was so highly commended on my tractor driving skills and the perfect execution of the pull-tractor-out-of-bog manouvre ... but which then put my whole day out of kilter and I ended up rushing to town to the PO and to do some errands

I have a heap of new stock to upload to the RES site ... but I have now run out of peak internet usage time (we're on satellite out here, no chance at getting these lovely cheap "unlimited" plans - gggrrr) ...

I have some sorting and pricing to do of various household goods which I'm selling at a garage sale on Saturday ... which is actually my friend's garage sale but I am helping and taking the opportunity to sell our stuff (and I cant tell you how handy a little bit of cash would be so cross your fingers for me ok)

I also have baking to do ... why? you ask ... well let's just say I had the brilliant idea of baking cupcakes and the likes for my 2 kids and my friend's 2 kids to sell at their own little table at the garage sale - bit of pocket money for them and will hopefully keep them out of our hair

So that's why I haven't got time ... and why am I still here? Dunno really, other than to attempt to actually update my blog in an entertaining way ... trying to, anyway.

Bad blogger

Yes, yes I know, bad blogger, slack blogger ... why would anyone read a blog that's never updated LOL.

So perhaps I need to schedule a day each week, just like other regular activities, to update the blog, what do you think?

Anyway, here's some creating from recent weeks, not much but something at least.

First up this was a "just because" LO and also using some old MME papers from the Red Earth Scrapping shop (which I thought were gorgeous but didn't sell well LOL). I also threw lots of embellies from my stash on there too although I'm not sure I got the placement quite right, looks a bit like someone threw up on it in places, but oh well, it's another memory recorded I suppose.

Then there's this one also using products from the RES shop (which sold better though LOL) - Cosmo Cricket "Togetherness" range ...

So next up, using yet more old stock from RES, I wanted to try painting a background to "soften" the base pp so I swiped this Fancy Pants pp with white paint but really thin so you could still see the colour and patterned behind. I splattered a bit of trust Maya Road Mist there too and used some scraps of the FP paper from the same "Wishful Thinking" range, popped on an odd assortment of embellies and there you have it. Just not happy with the buckling paper from having painted it though.

I've also been doing some card making workshops at home with some wonderful local ladies and here's what we made recently (focussing on using just 1 sheet of patterned paper and utilising our Cuttlebug machines and folders/dies etc) -

Having had 2 successful and enjoyable sessions we're now going to try and meet every 6 or so weeks on a Saturday afternoon. Next time we'll be doing some male/masculine cards so I need to get my A into G and get the samples and instructions done.

Dont you agree part of the beauty of hobbies is sharing with other like minded crafters? I get such a happy buzz from creating with others who enjoy and appreciate the same things. I love introducing people to the joys of paper crafting and seeing them create their own masterpiece of which to be proud of.

So that's the creating news from me, but what else has been going on? Well, the children have started their very first season of soccer! And there's a story with this too ...

which I put on a LO (funnily enough) ...

I hope you can read the journalling, it's a great story of how Caitlin's first week's efforts (i.e. chucking a wobbly and not playing a single second of the game) turned completely around for the second week (i.e. joined in training AND played the whole game AND had fun .. AND ... received her team's player of the week trophy!).

Here's my little soccer star (week 2).

And here's my other little soccer star (from week 1). Ciaran took to it like a duck to water and had so much fun. I was so proud of him too, going off happily with the group of little 5 year olds, listening very intently to the coach and doing every thing he was told. They have a fun skills training session followed by a mini game. The second week's little game was hilarious as the kids were all running intently after the ball, kicking it along but neither team realised they were suppose to be aiming for their goal, they just kept running and kicking, all the way along the entire length of the soccer fields, past (and even through) about 3 other little games ... it was just too funny and cute.

Well there's the update for you, perhaps I'll set that weekly task now 'eh.

I know I am married - happily - to the love of my life, my soul mate, my everything - MARTY - but ... OMG Keith Urban sets my heart all a flutter too LOL.

We (the family - hubby and both kids) went to his Sydney concert on Thursday 14th April and here's just a few pics I took on the night having smuggled my DSLR in my handbag (sadly not the big lens but I am so glad I did take the camera because they didn't have a souvenir program).

First up was the awesome group Lady Antebellum and wow, do they have a fantastic sound and great songs.

Then it was the great man himself, my Keith ... LOL, I'm sounding a little obssessed dont you think, whoops. But really, honestly, truly, it is his music, his musicianship, his musicality that I love and admire and respect. The music he creates and how he delivers each song, each performance, is something that makes my heart sing and stirs the soul. Plus he's pretty hot!!!

And look how close he got ... he came up our side of the arena and I skipped down the stairs from where we were sitting to get these pics, he was just metres from me ... bless his sweaty cotton shirt, he was just so wonderful.

So that was Thursday night in Sydney. On Friday we wandered around Darling Harbour and the kids and I went to the Aquarium while Marty went over to the Maritime Museum. After a late lunch we headed out to Parramatta (OMG I dont know how people live in the city, honestly, the traffic on that relativly short drive drove us totally NUTS and it probably wasn't what a local would call busy) and did a bit of shopping before checking into our hotel there. On Saturday we went to the Royal Easter Show - it poured rain almost the whole day but thankfully I packed rain coats for the kids and we had umbrellas so we were actually pretty dry and warm and had a fabulous, fun, interesting day.

The kids had their first Merry-Go-Round ride ...

And first Ferris Wheel ride ... thankfully this was a very modern one, fully enclosed and even air conditioned which, considering it bucketed down while we were on it, was very nice indeed compared to the old fashioned one.

They had ice creams, fairy floss and got a show bag each and the night finished with a great fireworks and laser display.

So that was our school holiday get-away and now we're just hanging out at home for the rest of the holidays and Marty is getting ready to start sowing this year's crop - the oats are in, the barley is going in and shortly we'll get stuck into the canola then all the wheat.

I have lots of Red Earth Scrapping "work" to do plus I am desperate to get some creating done for myself too. I'll be back with some of that next time.

Busy, busy, busy ...

That's life for everyone these days isn't it. No exception here.
I took things pretty easy after my little op the other week but suddenly life is once again full on, lots of things to do each and every day (although my list is not always "done" LOL).

So apart from the usual house work, kid wrangling and running around a mother and farmer's wife does, here's what I've been able to squeeze in creatively speaking.

Sunset photography ... I played with the various settings on my DSLR to get some beautiful shots. Still working out all the settings and numbers, too confusing for this little amateure sometimes though LOL.

I pulled out some Echo Park "Summertime" papers (there are still stocks of these in the Red Earth Scrapping shop - go to the next page for this range as well as "A Walk in the Park" which is equally gorgeous) and scrapped all the pics from Australia Day which we spent at our friends, mostly swimming, eating and drinking LOL. I did 3 pages but 1 was snapped up for publication by Scrapbooking Memories mag (happy dancing here) so here's the other 2. Aren't they so bright and happy.

This one is for our Red Earth Scrapping March sketch challenge using Stuck?! Sketches March 1st sketch plus our CT member, Linda's, extra criteria of white/black/green AND the handmade fabric spiral flower.

Pics are of my 2 with Susanne's 2 girls taken at the Orange Adventure Playground when we met up for the day in January this year.

This one is for March Scrap The Girls challenge which was to use one of the "she" quotes ... so once again using summer pics (when Susanne & I met) and the divine Echo Park papers, I came up with this.

This page is, yes, very different LOL, all distressed and a bit grungy, but it's for the March Scrap The Boys challenge - this challenge blog has just started up again - and you had to use a "moment in time" as your subject and heading.

And lastly, this one is for the March 123 Challenge challenge.

I've got a couple more projects in the pipeline ATM so when I get some pics I'll do another blog post to show you. In the mean time, thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll leave me some love :)

Scrap Share

Since my surgery last week I've been taking it easy so I enjoyed a weekend of scrapping which was bliss. Here's what I created ...

This is my take on the Kraft It Up February challenge - I haven't entered a LO over there for a while so thought I'd better have a go. This is definitely different for me, the paint and mist and collage of various bits and pieces but I think I like it ... I think LOL.

This is for the Stuck Sketches February 1st sketch - used up some older Bo Bunny papers plus last year's special Pink Kit from Red Earth Scrapping with the apple blossoms, thickers, heart pins and felt flower shapes. See the circle on the right side with the 2 owls? It's a Pinkie Pinkie button made by my lovely friend Kate. When I went looking for a few more little embellies I was so excited to find one of Kate's buttons from the exact same paper, how cool is that.

And this one, again using the BB pp's (and some more matching Pinkie Pinkie buttons which are so cute) is for the 15th February sketch at Stuck. Over at RES we use teh Stuck Sketches (with permission) as our monthly sketch challenge with a twist of 1 extra criteria on top of the original sketch - Linda's challenge to us this month was to include strip journalling.

I also made a few cards over the weekend to add to my stash ...

I was inspired by a sketch from Card Patterns.

And it's always great to use up scraps!!!

This & That!

Thankfully we seem to be back into the preschool and school routines pretty well now. We still have to hurry a certain child along who seems to think the world will wait for her LOL but it seems that personality trait is here to stay. Her Kindergarten teacher even commented to that effect, albeit nicely, in the end of year report. Sigh ...

Red Earth Scrapping is keeping me busy which is great. I am thrilled with the growth and development of the business and am really working hard to make sure it keeps going in the right direction. It will never make me rich, and at present I'm really not making much because it all goes straight back into building up stock, however I am lucky to get most of my personal supplies via the business so my habit is still going strong LOL.

Here's a look at my recent creations ...

Yes, I've done some 8.5x11 pages - they're for the Red's Random Challenge over at RES this month set by Mel - I was inspired by her challenge so I did 2 LO's while the mojo was firing.

Well the first half of my kid-free day this week is over so it's time I stepped away from the computer. Tomorrow I'm off to Orange for day surgery to have my "tubes tied". Suddenly today though I'm rather nervous about it all - I hate doctors and hospitals and medical things at the best of times, but I made this decision ages ago and finally got around to booking in for it so there's no going back. Wish me luck.

Back to "normal"

What is normal, really??? Rather a rhetorical question I know ...

Well, firstly I'm so excited to tell you that harvest is FINALLY finished. It dragged on and on for some 3 months, with rain interruptions and subsequent downgrading of the grain quality becoming the bain of our existence. But it's done, over, finished, complete!!! The header is just awaiting a wash down before being retired to the machinery shed until November.

I think "normal" is also getting back to a daily routine and now that school and preschool is back I'm feeling more organised already. The holidays were great in many ways, some sleep ins, chance to do what you want, when you want, go here and there, but they soon wore out their welcome I can tell you. The kids played together great one minute, then were fighting the next and I hate that.

Here's Caitlin's first day of year 1 yesterday ... happy and ready to go.

Ciaran was more than happy to be at preschool this morning and headed straight to the sandpit. He will do 2 days a week this year but is so funny trying to explain that to people - he has absolutely no concept of time in days/weeks/months/years so everyone is left completely confused when he tries to tell them when he'll be at preschool each week and that he's only got this year before going to "big school" LOL. Such a funny kid.

I will have 2 days a week to myself (can you hear me cheering LOL) and will be focussing on Red Earth Scrapping work, some farm office work, and SCRAPPING!!! I'm excited and hope to achieve lots on my kid-free, peaceful days at home. Can even catch up with a girlfriend for coffee sometimes, do some shopping without little people tagging along, annoying me. Oh the joys ... although maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, after all it is only 2 days out of 7 ... sigh ...

Anyhoos, I'd best share some pics and some scrapping before I go on too much longer.

The kids got special chopsticks for Christmas from Aunty Dan and they just love them. The pull them out every opportunity they get. When we were at Batemans Bay in mid January we had Chinese one night and Ciaran asked for "chinese sticks" and promptly started eating with them - holding them correctly and successfully getting food into his mouth! Not bad for a 4&1/2 year old.

We had a morning horse riding out at Aunty Nese's and Uncle Ken's just recently - Caitlin had a little ride some weeks ago and loved it so this time we made a morning of it with Ken's grandchildren who were staying. Such fun and a great experience for the kids.
Caitlin rode both "Blue" and "Willow" and Ciaran rode "Blue".
I also rode both horses and despite having not been on a horse for some 16 years, and only ever doing some trail riding when I was a teenager, it felt really good.
No, we are not getting horses any time soon though LOL. Way too much work. We'll just visit the rellies and ride theirs I think.

Lastly some creating to share ... firstly a "Prima overload" effort LOL and the second one is using the January 123 Challenge criteria plus some of our RES swap goodies from last year.

January is flying by

More than halfway through already, it seems crazy but you cant argue with the calendar now can you. I guess perhaps being in holiday mode with the kids home and no real daily routine makes the days seem to run into each other.

So what's been happening? How's my "one little word" project going? Ummm, next question ... no, really, if I just had a printer attached to my brain I could produce a book. Lots of books! So yes I've been doing lots of thinking and have some ideas about how I will present my OLW for 2011 but haven't actually produced anything tangible ... yet. Stay with me though, wont you.

I have been creating though, a bit here and there over the festive season.

Since it is school holidays I thought I'd better do something "proper" with the kids (and perhaps because we were all going stir crazy at home) so we went berry picking over near Orange, at Huntley Berry Farm. We spent over an hour wandering around picking our own, fresh, delicious berries, oh and tasting along the way of course too.

We have not long returned from a very quick few days away at Batemans Bay for a little family holiday. The weather around here looked a little dodgy and since I was in desperate need of changing the scenery and catching a breath of fresh air, Marty agreed to duck away. I got a last minute cheap deal on a motel room so off we went. Cant say it was a fabulous holiday or anything, although it was defintely good to be somewhere different and not have to do any cooking or cleaning. We totally blew the budget on eating out but really enjoyed it and had something different every meal, every day. When the kids weren't whinging or fighting they did get to do a bit of paddling at the beach, we also went fishing and managed to catch one, and we enjoyed a drive down the coast, looking around for the day.

Of course the day we came home was the best weather but that's how it goes.
As it turned out the weather back home wasn't that bad so Marty launched straight back into work within half an hour of getting home.

We did feel rather weird though about going on holidays when my home town of Brisbane was under seige due to the floods. It's strange watching from afar, recognising places and thinking about all the people affected by such devastation. Thankfully none of my family and friends and mutual scrapping friends were not directly affected either in Brisbane or Toowoomba.
Watching such sad scenes and listening to the heartbreaking stories, especially about those who have lost loved ones, really makes you stop and think about your lot in life doesn't it. For us, having battled the drought and now, just when we might have started to dig our way out, a wet, downgraded harvest, it has made me realise that we're doing ok, we haven't lost the lot in one foul swoop, we haven't lost a loved one. We are still here. Working so very hard, but here nonetheless and trying and move on and move forward.
My heart goes out to each and every person effected in some way by the terrible events occurring not just in SE Queensland, but right around Australia in recent weeks.

One Little Word

This is a very popular thing in the scrapping world since Ali Edwards started it some years back. I've played along on the various scrapping sites I've been involved in but this year, this evening in fact, have decided to sign up for her class at Big Picture Classes. Thanks to my friend Moira for her Facebook post mentioning this, I think it was what I really needed.

So, that one little word ... doesn't sound like a big deal really does it. But it's got to be the right word, one that means something on many levels and is going to "stick" for the whole year.

I've been thinking and thinking of this WORD, struggling to come up with something suitable and appropriate ... and have just read a heap of old blog posts, looked at some projects I've done over the last year and thought about the things that are making me feel a bit down ATM ... so I think my word will be ...

FAMILY

At the heart of everything I do is family - my husband, my children and then all the others that make up my family unit. Our farm business is a "family farm" and so everything we strive for in business all comes back to family. Everything I strive for on a daily basis as a wife, mother, homemaker (read: domestic goddess some days, slave and maid on others) is all about family.

My crafting and scrapping is all about family.

I want 2011 to be a positive, engaging, uplifting, enjoyable, fun and loving year of being together,

of being a family.

If I can keep everything in perspective, take it all just one day at a time, I'm sure I can embrace 2011.

Wish me luck ...

The washup

That one big day of the year, the one everyone stresses about and is busy preparing for, is now over, finished, done with!!! And I for one am glad. Some of you may have picked up from my Facebook posts that I was ready to skip the whole festive shebang and just keep moving right along. But, long story short, it all worked out ok and we had a pretty good day.

Beer and gingerbread cookies left out for Santa on Christmas Eve.

Santa left some cool stash in the kids' stockings. Miss Caitlin though doesn't miss a trick and I am going to have to be super careful in future - she spied something in Ciaran's stocking that she saw me buy recently and no amount of pretending on my part would convince her so I changed the subject and thankfully she let it go.

Little boy was very curious and excited but he was very good and just looked.

The first of many pressies for this pair. Happy campers all round and thoroughly spoilt too.

We spent the day at Marty's parent's place with his sisters and family - 7 adults and 5 kids makes for a fairly full on, chaotic day but it was all pretty casual and chilled out overall.

We started with nibbles and drinks, fed the kids lunch, enjoyed some prawns and oysters (not me though, cant stand the slimy little things, I just stick to prawns thanks), crowded in the lounge for presents which looked something like this ...

Then we left the kids to play with their loot and the grown ups enjoyed lunch - ham, turkey breast, chicken, cabbage/noodle salad, green salad, potato salad - followed by sticky date pudding and ice cream!

Afternoon siesta's for some and a swim in the pool for others was the order for the rest of the afternoon followed by prawns on the BBQ and leftovers for dinner followed by a fruit platter, white christmas and a cuppa.

Thankfully we just hung out at home on Boxing Day and then our friends came over in the evening and we hung out with them enjoying nibbles and drinks and exchanging pressies with each other's kids.

Thanks (or rather NO thanks) to storms on Christmas night which dumped almost 2 inches of rain at our place and nearly 3 inches of rain in town, followed by another storm that afternoon, we took a drive around to see the floods ...

This is our driveway river ... 4WD access only!!!

Looking towards town from the western side where we come in ... the river flooded over the lucerne paddocks and cut the road between the poplar trees. It will take weeks for the water to soak in or evaporate away because it doesn't flow back into the creeks or rivers.

Top right - river flooding lane behind main street shops - the main street and front of the shops are all higher but the water comes right up to the back of them and even into some but most are able to get their goods moved higher beforehand.
Others - when the river breaks its banks it forms almost a second river across the low lying flats on the northern side - the amount and speed of water moving through is incredible. The bottom right pic shows water over the road between the 2 bridges and it got much higher than this the next day, cutting road access completely.
Thankfully it is all subsiding relatively quickly and the road closures around the area didn't last long.

So beautiful ... sunset over the flood waters down near the lucerne flats that we share farm ... but so wrong cos the water ain't meant to be in these places and it's caused major damage to our lucerne.

However, they say a drought ends with a flood ... and 2010 has been the year of floods, certainly for Qld (at least twice in some areas, poor buggers) and NSW and Vic. The only state not copping the wet weather is WA. I'm sure their time will come ...

So that's my news for now ... are you impressed about another post from me WITHOUT an eternity between them LOL.

Next time I'll have some scrapping to share.

Oh Dear ...

It's been a long time between posts yet again, life is just too crazy busy it seems.

Harvest kicked off well enough with our canola - we got the last of it stripped literally just a few hours before the first of the rain periods set it. Lucky is an understatement because there are so many paddocks belonging to others where their windrows of canola is still just sitting there turning black and horrible because of the weather.

We are totally over the rain now - and feel guilty in a way for saying so after so many years of wishing and praying that it would rain. Why did it have to come at the wrong time? The boys are trying desperately to strip what they can but the wheat has been severely downgraded and they seem to spend more time pulling headers out of bogs that actually harvesting. There are a lot of frayed tempers and colourful language as you can imagine. Still, we just keep slogging away cos that's what we do.

Check out just a few of the wet weather pics I took around our house. It doesn't really show just how much rain we've had and how saturated everything is. I wish I had got pics of our driveway which has been literally a running river on several occasions - with dams over flowing and paddocks completely sodden the water just runs, and keeps running - it's been deep enough to be just over the side steps of the 4WD!

I quit my job at the dairy a few weeks back with the intention of helping with the harvest but I've been really sick with a sinus infection that just wont clear plus the kids have been crook then last weekend I got sick again too with a very weird virus. Thankfully my parents had just arrived for a week's visit so they took over the household and kid-wrangling for me. It was a shame it wasn't a nice relaxing visit for them and we didn't get to spend much time together however it was good timing that they were able to help.

My parents were also here for the school presentation day ... and Miss Caitlin got an award for "Safe, Respectful & Responsible" behaviour. She also brought home a lovely report card the day before so it was proud parent and grandparent moments all round. Thankfully I was starting to finally feel better by then.

We also took a drive out to Wyangala Dam for a picnic lunch and paddle - it looks amazing with water in it!!! The best I'd ever seen it was just under 60% when I arrived here 9 years ago, and now ... well, skiing this summer will be a whole lot more enjoyable.

I have done a little bit of scrapping, but not nearly as much as I would like to.

I used some of the new October Afternoon "Seaside" range for these pages - the "Tinsel Tangles" LO is for my challenge during our Cyber Crop over at Red Earth Scrapping earlier this month.

This page is for Scrapbook Top 50 where I joined in the "scrap whispers" during November.

And the double is based on the December Challenge sketch over at SBT50 as well which RES is sponsoring this month. I turned the sketch into a double as I wanted to use all these pics from the same day on the one LO. It's not quite finished to my eye but I decided not to sit on it anymore, perhaps inspiration will strike one day with what it needs to complete it.

Here is my LO from Mistra's "Scrapilicious" Class we held at RES. I do love this, it's really special.

And how about this, 2 double LO's in the one post! This is from Penny's "Sunny Happy Skies" Class also at RES during November. This was such great fun and I was even inspired to continue the whimsy feel and use up some leftovers from the kit with another quick page.

Then there were these pages "just because" ... I am such a terrible product hoarder, it's almost embarassing so I am proud of myself using up all this old stash.

This page I created for a friend who is keen to get into scrapping (YAY!) ...

It seems like I have been doing a lot of scrapping but it really is only a bit here and there between all the other crazy life happenings and running about.

I was also very industrious preparing Christmas card kits for some classes I held in town on the first 2 Saturday's in December, aimed at kids coming to make a few cards. The 2 mornings were a success and got the RES name out there. Everyone asked for more classes next year, and there's adults keen to get involved too with scrapping and card making so it was really positive and worthwhile.

So, that's been life (in a nutshell) of late.

Hi friends, thanks for dropping by. I've got lots to share this time. I really should post more often, but you know how it is ... anyhoo ...

So the above pic is of the newest additions to our family, yep chooks!!! Woohoo, I've been wanting chooks for years and years and my wonderful, clever husband finally built the Taj-Mahal of chook pens and we got this assortment of fluff-balls from some friends just the other day.

The big white fellow is the rooster "Johnnie", the brown hen is "Brownie", the cream hen is "Hillary", the black hen is "Stevie" and the 2 bantams are "Henny Penny" combined.

This morning the kids collected 2 eggs!!! Dad cooked "dippy eggs" for breakky which went down a treat.

Onto other things ... scrapping to be precise. I've managed to squeeze in quite a bit lately which is fabulous. Some are "just because" and others are for challenge blogs, or for Red Earth Scrapping.

This LO uses October Afternoon "Thrift Shop" pp's which I got from Michelle at Divas a while back - I love them and the page came together really easily. And what do you do when you haven't got quite the right matching embellies ... make them from the pp scraps of course. Have been enjoying making these concertina "flowers" lately although I have had trouble when fanning them around ... the trick however is smaller folds. Originally I read somewhere about scoring every 1/2" on a 12" strip and folding, but I've found they need to be narrower than this so it fans out better. The hot glue gun is excellent for holding everything firmly in place too.

This 8&1/2 x 11 page is for the November Sketch challenge at RES and is also the 1st sketch over at Stuck?! Sketches. See that cute heart button? It's from My Little Bit Of Whimsy which, after popping in and out for a look a few times, finally decided to treat myself to some yummy goodies.

This next LO is my version of Mistra's October challenge over at RES which had to include that particular quote, fabric, ribbon among other things. I've had this Websters Pages paper calling out to me and I was in the mood for lots of flowers and bling and a lumpy-bumpy full on page so this is the result. I am particular proud of my Dusty Attic chippie - you like???

Using the fabulous Mistra's "Chipboard 101" technique which she has shared in the RES forum, I achieved what I think is a passable result for a "chippie virgin" LOL.

This page is for a "scrap whispers" challenge for October over at Scrapbook Top 50 - always good fun joining in with something like this.

This bookmark and card are designed for children to make - I am going to hold a couple of mornings in December at the CWA hall in town for children (and adults) to come and make some simple christmas cards etc. So far I've made up about 2 dozen kits of each and I have more ideas. I hope the mornings are successful both for my business but the participants too.

These next 2 LO's are using products from the RES shop which I've been eyeing off for a while - The Girls Paperie "Paper Girl" range. Every single thing on both these LO's (with the exception of the Dusty Attic chippie windmill sorry) are from this range. So pretty aren't they, and I think, so adaptable to any style of page.

This was a "just because" page and it was great to deliberately reach for some older stash and finally use it up. I'm such a terrible, terrible hoarder ...
Oh and good to finally scrap some older pics too.

This page was using the Stuck?! Sketches second October sketch and it was also our sketch challenge over at RES for October with the added criteria of using lots of pink. Afterall it was pink month in support of Pink Ribbon Day over at RES.
Do you think there's enough pink here? LOL

And lastly, here are some christmas cards I whipped up for the school fete - I popped them all in a little plastic bag and also included a slip of paper saying "Handmade by Helen Kinsela" and I put the logo and details of RES too. Bit of free advertising cant hurt right?

Speaking of the fete I am about to head up there right now and grab a sausage sandwhich for lunch. I also have to take up my other contribution - 2 dozen apricot & honey Rock Cakes and 2 dozen Blueberry Muffins which I cooked up this morning.

Think I've done my bit for the fete dont you?

It's all good though, I actually enjoying making the cards and cooking so I dont mind.

So, onto some of my own scrapping ...

Something a bit different, especially for me ... I used the new Graphic 45 "Steampunk Debutante" range for this one. I absolutely loved it when I first saw it so nabbed some for myself but then was a bit stuck exactly how to use it. Once I decided which of the gorgeous designs on the papers I wanted to cut out it came together. There's just so much to see on each piece, they're amazing designs. And yep, it's in the RES Shop if you want some!!!

Then there's these simple pages for something completely different again. I had seen this LO design ages and ages ago (and I'm sorry I now dont know who to credit) and I finally scraplifted and came up with these pages.

You might notice on all these LO's some yo-yo flowers ... I have been wanting to make some for ages so finally had a bit of a flower making fest the other weekend then of course had to use them. I found the easy-peasy instructions here.

These next few pages are "just because" and I made myself reach deep into my stash for some older products that I really should used up LOL.

And for World Card Making Day last weekend, I finally got my A into G and made up a few sets to add to my stash, again using up old products which always feels great. I guess I dont feel so guilty about it sitting there or something LOL.

Catch up

WOW, it's been a crazy busy few weeks ... and isn't slowing down yet.

First up, Caitlin turned 6 on the 4th September!!! We had a family dinner and cake at home then the following day, her actual birthday we surprised her with an afternoon of ten pin bowling followed by dinner at a restaurant which is a luxury for us these days.

Marty's been flat out trying to get crops sprayed (fertiliser and chemical for weeds etc) but the rain just keeps on coming. We dont dare complain because after 9 years of drought, wet weather is still quite exciting, but we've had so much rain this year that there's no where for the water to go now, the paddocks are soaked so we cant even get a tractor in to spray. We've booked a crop duster (plane) to do the paddocks we cant access but the plane even bogged in on the air strip last weekend LOL. Every time it rains now the creeks and even the river through town floods which really amuses the kids. But everything is looking pretty good, if we can get the last of the spraying done we should be set for a good harvest ... but you never count your chickens before they're hatched, definitely not in this farming game I tell ya.

Anyway, between working at the dairy, Red Earth Scrapping and the usual family comings and goings, somehow I've found time for a bit of scrapping which is always good. It's wonderful therapy if nothing else.

I wanted to use this pic and I felt like creating a busy sort of page with lots of flowers and pearls ... so I reached for the ever-faithful Websters Pages, Prima, Green Tara and I actually made the paper blossoms using some old Kaiser paper flowers, scrunching them into layers for a dimensional flower.

This page is totally different, more linear and simple. It's for the Stuck?! September 1st sketch challenge.

As I mentioned I've been busy with Red Earth Scrapping and you can check it all out HERE!!! There's even a Cyber Crop happening at the moment, our very first in fact. Plus I've been uploading so much new stock, trying to do a bit every day. I've decided to have a SPRING SALE during the Cyber Crop as well to make room for all the new stuff arriving so make sure you check it out and grab some bargains.

This week I'm off to Sydney with my girlfriends for a couple of days - we're hitting the shops one day followed by the Tim McGraw concert. YUMMO, eye candy and great music, sounds like a great night out to me. Sadly my shopping will be the browsing variety, but hey, some girl time is important.

The gorgeous new My Minds Eye ranges arrived at RES last week so here's what I've created using the "Boy" range ... you can find it all in the shop here. Check out the great combo packs too which are guaranteed to SAVE you some $$$.

So, first up ... "Boy" ... funnily enough using the "Boy" range of papers and embellies LOL.

Then using the die cut sheet of d/s pp from this range (plus some Green Tara apple blossoms and lace, and a Twiddleybitz chippie from the RES shop, along with a few other bits from my stash) I came up with this LO.

Stuck! Sketches and more RES Mega Kit LO's to share

The first 2 pics, is a LO based on the Stuck! Sketches August 1st Sketch which you can find here. I even made it a double but yes, it is very simple. I used the floral pp from the Red Earth Scrapping August 2010 Mega Kit and I made the flowers by punching 3 scalloped circles and snipping in between each "petal", and also snipping down the middle of each "petal". Then I just flicked the snipped edges gently to get a ruffled look and the middle layer is the plain contrasting colour on the back of the pp. A Prima centre finishes them off. Easy!

The next 2 pics is a LO again using the Mega Kit and the GCD Studios pp's - they are just lovely to work with and some have a shimmer too. The pp's and alphas are from the kit and the rest is from my stash - the pearls are just strips which I cut and curled around as I stuck them on. Incidently, Caitlin took this pic of Marty and I a few weeks ago using my big Digi SLR, not bad for a 5 (nearly 6) year old 'eh.

The next little pic is a quick and easy card I made using a scrap of the floral pp from my double LO. I made the flower by punching 2 retro flowers, spritzing with water, scrunching and unravelling then layering them just off-centre to each other and again, a Prima centre finished it off.

The final pics are a very different sort of style LO using LOTS of distressing - it's for Mistra's Mystery Challenge for August over at RES - she challenged us to use a "water distressing technique" - and I had a heap of fun spraying and scrunching and generally getting right into the whole distressing thing LOL. I even got the Maya Mists out and went nuts (sorry it doesn't show up so well in the photo). I kept the whole distressed feel using raw chipboard alphas and bracket and added some textural elements with frayed fabric, a cute little crocheted flower (available at RES by the way), buttons, a Jenni Bowlin pin (also available at RES) and tiny little 7Gypsies key (and yep, it's in the RES shop too of course). Oh and that jute & cream ric rac is at RES too - it's actually in the August 2010 Mini Kit, but is also available by the metre if you like it. It's something a bit different and I like the texture and earthy, natural feel of it.

I've been using some divine Websters Pages from the Red Earth Scrapping August 2010 Mega Kit for these.

I do apologise for the SHOCKING quality of the photos of the last 2 LO's - I needed to get pics but couldn't get any decent lighting and didn't have time to play around so I just snapped a few and hoped for the best LOL.

I've got more yummies to play with from the kits so will share those later.

Going Vintage

My first real attempt at some vintage style scrapping ... not great, there's still something I cant put my finger on that's not quite right IYKWIM, but I guess it takes practice.
I had fun creating though ;)

My mum scanned and sent me a heap of old pics a while back when I was making a mini album for my
Grandmother ... I was inspired to have a look through them again because her 90th birthday is coming up. This pic is of my Grandmother with her 2 daughters (my Mum is the toddler) taken at Torquay Beach, Hervey Bay, Queensland on the 9th of January 1953 (I think it's 1953, judging by the age of my Mum in the pic).
I cropped the original pic a little, played a little with the contrast and then added a little sepia tone to it.

The papers, flowers and pearls are all Prima yummies.

This LO "Cold Snap" is for the 1st June Sketch over at Stuck! Sketches. As you can see I used up some old BG and MME pp's, always good to use up stash.

This LO is for Scrapbook Divas June P&T Challenge which was to use mists - I used Maya Mists (metallic) on the Buzz & Bloom chipboard here - Latte, Avocado and Pink Grapefruit. The photo doesn't show it but they have the most beautiful shimmery-sheen to them. LURVE my mists!!!

And last but not least is "All Boy" ... a LO just because ... isn't it great to pull out some pics because you feel inspired to scrap them? Again I used up some older MME pp and a few die cuts plus some old Kaiser rubons and the little symbols I cut out of left of Kaiser pp.

... about the little project that's been keeping me so busy ... RED EARTH SCRAPPING ... this is my very own baby, my own online scrapbooking and papercrafting online business.

The website is still under construction but I am hoping to have the forum and gallery ready soon and then the official opening, including the shop, on the 1st August 2010.

In the mean time, I would love you to join the Red Earth Scrapping Facebook group here. To date we have 100 members which I am so thrilled about - the more the merrier they say.

The sad part about all this is having to "leave" Scrapbook Divas which has been my scrapping home for over 3 years. Last night I put up a very sad announcement in the forum. I will be finishing up my DT duties at the end of June but I'm sure I will still be popping back there to chat with all the lovely girls.

Onto other things ... I haven't done much scrapping of late (wonder why LOL) but I did whip up these vintage inspired cards for a challenge over at Scrapz the other week and was lucky enough to win a shop voucher from the lovely Heike. Just dont tell DH I went shopping LOL.

Oh and I've had an acceptance from Scrapbook Creations mag!!! YAY. It will be in the Quick Grabs gallery of issue 85 (we're currently up to #78 I think). Hopefully it's a foot in the door of a few more LO's to be published.

Healthy, Wealthy & Wise - Divas Crazy Crop

So another Divas Crazy Crop is well underway ... find all the details of the 5 challenges and catch up on the chat HERE. I can reveal my first challenge ... which is making these gorgeous handmade flowers (which I learnt at the Graphic 45 stand at "Creative Block" in Brisbane last month). All the instructions including the templates are in the forum.

My other challenge for the CC week is all about fat-free and guilt-free treats ... cupcakes to be precise. We're making all sorts of delicious goodies using paper LOL. Check out the thread here and be tempted (there's also a few full-fat cupcake versions in there in case you're hungry).

I scrapped a LO "just because" ... been lacking in mojo (and time) a bit lately so this was really enjoyable and I quite like it. I used up the rest of the Fancy Pants "Road Show" papers from my class kit from the "Creative Block" class I did. Michelle also has this gorgeous range in the Divas shop including the divine flocked transparency. I'm seriously thinking I need to get myself some more of that stuff.

The alphas are some old Heidi Swapp chippies which I sanded and I also added various flowers including a Prima bloom.

Been a while, I know ...

Goodness me I'm a slack blogger. Been rather busy though, working, family, scrapping and something else I cant share yet ...

First up though, here's a sneek peek ... of part of a challenge for the CRAZY CROP at Scrapbook Divas which starts next week, Monday 17th May. Hope you will come and join us for a week of challenges, chat and fun. Lots of prizes up for grabs and the chance to be Queen of the Crop with a 2 month Guest Design Team Member spot.

Also at Scrapbook Divas ... I've prepared the May Product & Technique Challenge and here's my sample. The challenge was to create a LO:
* odd/irregular shape base
* must include lots of journalling
* something orange on the page

Mothers Day ... check this place out Mayfield Garden. This is a massive private garden and OMG it is just stunning, such an amazing, beautiful place ... and mind blowing to think it is private (i.e. self funded). Oh to have that kind of cash to splash around for fun 'eh.

Anyway, Marty surprised me by taking the day off, and saying we were going for a drive. We started the day with the kids bringing me their gifts they had made and bought at school/preschool, then Marty pulled out a card ... which he MADE himself!!! Yup he'd been raiding my scrapping stash and I must say I am very impressed with his efforts. He also wrote a beautiful message inside which made me cry and laugh all at the same time.

We had a big cook up for breakky and, still not sure of where we were going, packed hats, water bottles and snacks and set off in the car ... for Mayfield Garden. It had been advertised on TV and I had mentioned in passing I'd love to see it so when Marty was sure he could manage to take the day off, he decided that's what he would do for Mothers Day for me. Normally it's a "hallmark moment" type of day for him, but I was really touched.

So here's just a few pics of this spectacular expanse of garden, spread over about 100 acres. We spent hours wandering, looking, exploring ... bliss ...

Easter Activities

So Easter has been and gone for another year. Thankfully there wasn't too much chocolate splashed around here, just a few eggs for the kids so they were happy.

The highlight for Caitlin was her very first Easter Hat Parade at school. The kinder, years 1 and 2 kids all made their own hats in class time for the parade - the year 6 buddies helped the kinder kids with theirs and Caitlin was so proud of hers. It really is lovely, so bright and arty.

On the crafting front, over at Divas we put together 7 Days of Easter Crafting. I made this cute bunny jar having seen a similar idea in BH&G magazine.

I also made this basket having seen the instructions at the SIE blog here.

And the other challenge was to create a LO using a sketch - and the page had to have something to do with Easter, either Easter photos and embellies, or if you just simply didn't have any, be creative and include any sort of Easter symbol somewhere on the page. I decided to complete my page without any pics because I wanted to put some Easter Hat Parade photos on the page. All I need to do now is print my photos and stick 'em on. Easy.

Onto other Easter things ... the kids decorated Arrowroot biscuits (cos they're egg shaped) with various colours of icing one afternoon and I got these lovely pics of them. Got some similar good ones last year too so it will be lovely looking back on them in years to come.

And lastly, over at Divas, my April Mystery Challenge is to make pinwheels - here I've made a whole heap from co-ordinating pp's in different sizes and arranged them like flowers in a vase. You can use pinwheels on a LO, card, or any project you like.

Creating & Crafting update

It appears I've been a busy beaver when I look at all these pics yet there's a heap more projects I haven't got done that I would like to squeeze in.

But anyway, here's what I've been up to.

A LO sort of "just cos" which is so great to do. I wanted to use these pics of DS's 2nd birthday so I cropped them, dug out some cardstock and realised they seemed to "pop" on the plain colour, dark background. I threw on some old brads, bling, stars and a variety of alphas and this is what I came up with.

This is another "just cos" LO - I've had this frame with the butterfly for ages and recently found (but cannot for the life of me remember where) a LO using that SAME frame. So I did a very loose scraplift of it.
I hand cut the felt bracket and the rest of the products are October Afternoon goodies which I just love.

This page is for the March challenge at the Kraft It Up blog.

Earlier in the mont 3AS had their Cyber Crop. I got a few challenges done, including this one for the colour challenge ... (which I won YAY). It was a really interesting colour combo but I liked it and somehow managed to make it work. I also put the LO together in a bit of a rush I'll admit but am very pleased with the page.

Another page from the 3AS CC ... a "non people" LO ... our nephew Clancy absolutely LURVES animals and is always setting up scenes involving animals. These pics were taken at Nanny & Pa's just after Christmas ... he'd set up a whole farm yard scene, complete with water and feed troughs, farm vehicles and HAY for the animals which was the fallen pine needles from the Christmas tree. He's about to turn 3 this weekend so for a kid to come up with such an amazing concept and be able to put it together at that age, we think is amazing.

The following LO "Favourite Son" is another 3AS CC challenge ... we had to chose a Green Day song title for our LO. A unique but great concept.

I threw some old SR yummies together for this one.

And finally, the card challenge was about using your scraps. And I won the challenge with this effort. Simple but effective (if I may say so).

Moving along ... to Scrapz. They are running yet another wonderful comp ... "Scrapz Chickadees" ... focusing on all things Easter.

They've had the most wonderful array of Easter crafting and creating and scrapping. So here's what I've been able to do so far ...

A LO about Easter Traditions ...

Egg shaped cards ... these will be for DD's teachers.

This cute (but slightly odd looking) chick ... he's paper pieced and you can arrange his tail and wings almost any way you like. I think he needs longer legs to get the proportions right ... that's my problem I think but hey, he's my first attempt.

And my demented bunny envelope. Again he's my first attempt ok??? LOL.

These place cards are origami rabbits ... start with a square and fold. It was really easy actually.

And the lovely Mel started us off with her ever-faithful, gorgeous little baskets.

Divas Crazy Crop continues ...

Well it's Friday so the last challenge for our Crazy Crop week is up. Remember we have 5 challenges, one each day, during our CC. Check them all out HERE.

This was Challenge 2 from me ... all about "4" - use 4 different c/s and/or pp's, 4 photos, 4 buttons OR 4 brads, 4 different types of embellishments.

And this is Challenge 5 - a Banner - birthdays & banners go together, right? And since it's Diva's 4th Birthday I came up with this little creation.

I kept it very simple but if I had more time I would have gone all out with the embellies. I so love the Maya Road style of things, loads of pretty touchy-feely things like velvet and lace and chipboard and pins etc.

I posted last time about how excited I was to finally have a LO accepted for publication ... and then what do I find in my in-box today??? Yep, another acceptance ... but ... it's for the SAME LO!!! This time Scrapbook Creations want my "Family" LO ... but I've already sent it off to Creating Keepsakes.

WAAAAHHHH!!! Not fair ... but kinda funny, sort of ...

Anyway, moving right along to some eye candy ...

This first LO is my sample for Scrapbook Divas March Mystery Challenge. The challenge this month is to create a LO with NO patterned paper. Yep you read right - none, nil, nup, nadda ...

But it's not as hard as you might think ... hints ... use a large photo, or a heap of smaller ones, dont be afraid of "white space" and "balance", you can go nuts with your embellies such as alphas, die cuts, flowers etc. You could even create your own backgrounds and accents with stamps, masks and like I've done on my Kraft, Maya Mist.

Remember you have until midnight on the 28th March to upload your entry to the correct gallery to be in the running for $10 Diva Dollars.

Little toot ...

I got happy (e)mail this week :o) An acceptance from Creating Keepsakes (Aussie Reader Gallery) for my "Family" LO I did using the Divas February kit. Happy camper here! I've posted it off so now I eagerly await the commissioning letter just so I know it's REAL.

On Thursday I wasn't feeling 100% so I decided to forget most of the housework and relax ... by scrapping. This is what I created ... thanks to inspiration from the lovely Sheree, who presented the Scrapz.biz weekly Build It Up challenge.

I didn't have a shadow box handy (and the scrapping budget is a big faz zero ATM) so I just took the glass out of an old frame instead. Not quite as effective but it will have to do.

This next LO is for 3 Angels Scrapping Feb sketch challenge.

And this last page is my entry for the Feb challenge over at a brand new challenge blog called Kraft It Up. As the name suggests it's about using KRAFT products. This month's challenge was to use Kraft (duh) and lots of distressing.

I used some Maya mists (hmmm, these are becoming addictive as I've recently added a few to my meagre collection), lots of inking and roughing up the edges of the papers. I also made the circle flowers - just punched 3 different size circles, misted with water, scrunched and unravelled them, stuck a brad in the middle and da-dah!

Ok, so today's pics & news first ... it's been raining ... AND raining ... over 6 inches in the last 10 days actually so we're happy little farmers here ATM.

These pics I took earlier today when we went for a drive around the area to see creeks and rivers running.

It wasn't long ago I took a photo looking in the same direction (NW) as this one except it was a dust storm rolling in. This picture today is a sheet of rain coming in. Oh and notice the green!

This photo is looking up our driveway - there's water flowing over it from the paddocks in afew places, not too deep, but just indicating that the paddocks cant soak up any more, at least not keeping up with the amount of rainfall.

This dam is full, almost overflowing in fact because the water running into it cant go anywhere else now than over and out. But that's ok ...

This is showing the water running into it from the paddocks up behind. Actually our paddocks are to the left and behind me, what you see over that fence is our neighbour's.

So that's all the excitement around here on Valentine's Day LOL.

Onto other news ... 2 weeks ago our daughter Caitlin started school. Here she is on her very first day of Kindergarten, we are so proud of her. She went off without any dramas and has been pretty good about the whole school "thing" in general. So grown up ... sigh ...

And on a creative note ... here's some LO's I've created using some yummy new stuff in the Divas Shop - "Bright Day" from an Australian Company, Paper Inklings.

I must say I'm not a fan of purple, or lilac or anything like that, but I really loved working with this range and was so surprised at how the pages turned out.

Hi everyone, just popping in to share some LO's. At the various sites I hang out on, there's been various versions of "use your stash" challenges and activities. I haven't kept up with them all unfortunately but I've been playing along with my own version LOL.

So here's some work, mostly using old stash, trying to whittle down that pile to justify new goodies LOL.

This LO of my husband is more about the words of the song which is on Lee Kernigan's new CD which he got for Christmas. It's a beautiful song and I'm sure it's written just for him LOL.

And yes I'm using up more old stash like these Kaiser pp's, Thickers and Thicker shapes and these cute little wooden buttons which you will find scattered throughout so many of my LO's over the years. My girlfriend found a box of them at a garage sale back when I first started seriously scrapping so she gave me a heap and finally, I seem to have used them up. Shame in a way cos a girl can never have enough buttons.

This LO is for my Product & Technique challenge over at Divas this month. The challenge was to create a LO (or other project) using lots of layering and at least 1 element that was 3 or more layers. My flower embellishment is in fact 8 layers in all!

Better late than never ... I dont think I put my Christmas LO's up when it was actually Christmas LOL. Silly me 'eh. This LO was for one of the 12 Days of Christmas over at Scrapz.biz (and thanks to the lovely Heike I was the lucky day 6 winner - I got 6 different festive scrapping goodies, all totally divine).

And finally, I had started this LO before we left for Christmas in Brisbane using the products in my 3 Angels Scrapping Guest DT kit, but didn't get to finish it til we got home. Everything except the flowers and bling is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses range which was just gorgeous.

Tonight - Friday 22nd January - over at Divas we're having our "chat & scrap" evening. Log into the chatroom from 7:30pm AEDST for all the fun and join in Bingo and the Blind Scrap challenge too (RAK up for grabs).

I've finally got some LO's to show you but, rather embarassingly, they are not a great start to my DT duties, isn't that terrible. But hey, I'll subject you to them anyway. It can only get better from here right???

Anyway, there was method in the madness behind this first page - Nat's challenge of using 10 scraps of pp & c/s plus assorted alphas - so I did a crazy patchwork with my scraps (most of them I didn't even trim) whacked on a picture, some alphas and a few simple embellies.
It was actually a fun project.

This next LO is a scraplift (yep, and I'm supposed to be a DT member LOL) but the LO on the October Afternoon blog caught my eye so I just had to have a go. Besides, it was very quick and easy so it was a bonus. I used up some old American Crafts pp, some old and new tree embellies, plus some old foam thickers some of which I turned this way or that, or cut, to make the required letters.

Lots Happening

Michelle, Natalie and I have been busy with lots of plans and ideas for Scrapbook Divas in 2010.

We've wasted no time and already kicked off with our monthly challenges - there will still be 4 challenges each month, with a $10 shop voucher for the winners, but here's how we'll be posting the challenges:

Product & Technique challenge posted on the 1st of each month
Colour Challenge posted by the Guest Design Team Member on the 1st of each month
Sketch Challenge posted by the boss lady, Michelle, on the 15th of each month
Mystery Challenge posted on the 15th of each month

Project 365/52 is well underway with lots of keen participants, myself included. So far I've been snapping away and keeping notes but I admit I haven't even printed a pic yet. All in due time ... LOL.

Our first Crazy Crop for 2010 will commence on Monday 8th March - 5 days of challenges, lots of chat and fun and the Queen of the Crop will be our Guest Designer for April & May.

Best wishes to you all for the new year. May 2010 be an awesome year for us all.

Well, we are home from our trip to Brisbane for Christmas with my family & friends, and our NY camping trip at Glenbawn Dam. It rained almost every single day we were away and although the rain cut our camping trip short by a couple of days, we were all still excited to see so much wet stuff. Guess that's what happens when you haven't seen it for so long.
We got some rain around home, but not nearly as much as other places around the state. Still, we are hopeful of lots more to come ...

On the scrapping front I haven't done a thing since before I left. But I'm busting to get into it, especially with all the exciting things we're planning for Scrapbook Divas this year. Nat has already kicked off "Project 52/365" ... I hope you will check it out and join in.
First though I MUST get my house in some sort of respectable shape, it looks like a bomb hit it since we got home from holidays and my scrapping room is a disaster zone with Christmas stuff everywhere.

Anyway, stay tuned ... when I am a bit more organised I'll have lots of scrapping to share.

Scrapping wrap up

Well, the Scrapbook Divas Design Team competition is now done and dusted, just waiting for the boss lady to make her decisions. I loved all 3 challenges and am pleased with what I created so if my dream of making Michelle's team doesn't eventuate, then never mind, I've got some nice work to show for it anyway.

Good luck everyone ... I do not envy Michelle at all having to chose.

So, the third challenge was a double sketch challenge - a 6x12 LO and a card - so here's what I came up with.

As I posted a while back I think I was honoured to be chosen as the December Guest Design Team member over at 3 Angels Scrapping and I've been slowly but surely uploading various projects using the gorgeous products that Jo & Rosy sent me. Check out the gallery for more.

Here's some pics of a Bella! chipboard tag album which I covered with the divine Basic Grey d/s Eskimo Kisses range of pp's. I printed some little pics of the children I took during our very quick Christmas shoot a few weeks ago, and printed the story of Twas The Night Before Christmas onto little cards then decorated the album with lots of kindy glitz, die cut BG stickers and also a few hand cut pieces of the pp raised on d/s foam tape.

I think I'll add some more bling and ribbons and other pretties through out the album to really give it some "sparkle" and "pop" but here it is in its present state.

Christmas Exgravaganza & DT Competition

Hi bloggers ... I've been scrapping up a storm over the last week, you would be amazed at what I've created but I'm only going to share a little here in this post and save the rest for another day.

First up ... Challenge 2 of the Divas DT comp ... use the colours of the logo (pink/green/orange) and scrap a LO in your own, usual style.

So do you think this is me and my usual style? Stupidly I asked DH that question and all got was a roll of the eyes and the "you're kidding aren't you" look, however he did say it was "nice" LOL.

Over at Divas we've kicked off our 12 Days of Christmas Extravaganza with some awesome projects so far, and we're only half way through.

Check out the DIVAS FREE CLASSROOM BLOG for all the instructions and pics for each project. Yes it's free, available for anyone to look at and have a go.

So this LO is my scraplifted version of one the super clever Anne-Marie did for us.

The lovely Nat presented us with this clever and simple idea for pretty Christmas candles so I've whipped up some as little gifts for my girlfriends. Great way to use up scraps too.

Here's the 2 projects I presented for the 12 Days Extravaganza on day 1 - recylcing LOL. Yep these are just altered containers, perfect for popping little pressies in like chocolates, or even socks/jocks/boxers etc for Dad.

This last one is a mint tin and I've made up little vouchers to slip inside for my DH - things like "a massage" or "a free beer" or "a night off from the BBQ" - use your imagination. It's also a great idea for the kids to give.

Busy at Divas

Challenge 1 for the Divas Design Team competition is all done ... and here it is, a set of mini canvasses which are now hanging on the wall in my hall.

The "special technique" part of the challenge is my version of "dodgy flowers". A big thank you to the lovely MISTRA for sharing her technique which I tweaked a little to suit me and this project. One day I'm sure I'll share the instructions with you all, but since we had to prepare a separate tutorial to e-mail to Michelle as part of this challenge I'll hold off until the boss lady says it's ok LOL.

So now it's on to Challenge 2 which Michelle posted this morning ...

Grab a cuppa, this is gonna be a long post. Lots of piccies too.

And sorry my scrapping pics are in no particular order, not that it really matters I guess, but you know what I'm like LOL.

Anyway ... this one is a LO "just because". I was scrapping pics of DS's 3rd b'day for a challenge (see further down) and decided to get 'em done. I was inspired by a challenge from the lovely Nat over at 3AS during the Melbourne Cup week to create a LO using no patterned paper, except the circle and the stars are actually punched from a scrap of SR pp.

This lovely little number was the winning entry for Scrapz.biz weekly colour challenge (Paint a Rainbow) last week. Lucky me :o)

Following on from DS's 3rd b'day pics I scrapped this page "just because" as well. I was using these BG pp's and stickers for the 3AS sketch challenge, so used them again for this LO.

And this is the LO for the 3AS Sketch challenge.

Here's another LO "just because". Hey I'm doing well with these lately LOL.

I was inspired to try another double spread after reading the article in SBM mag and I also had these BG "Eerie" pp's from the gorgeous Michelle at Scrapbook Divas. As the name suggests they're Halloween inspired but since I dont have any suitable pics I wanted to try using pics totally unrelated to the paper's intended theme. I think it worked ... kinda.

Also from Divas were these "Indian Summer" pp's and lace die cut paper from which I hand cut the heart. This was a very quick and simple page using 1 sheet of bazzill swiss dot c/s and the rest is just BG pp and stickers.

Back to the Halloween theme (see, told you the pics in this post are all out of whack LOL), I made this treat tin, again using the "Eerie" range of pp's. Check out the forum for the instructions. This idea can be converted for any occasion - birthday, christmas etc.

Back over at Scrapz.biz again, I whipped up this quick page for their October monthly challenge.

And this was my entry for round 3 of the Scrapper of Oz competition. I, sadly, totally bombed out of the wonderful comp that Heike put together, but 8 amazing ladies have made it through to the final round. Congratulations!!! Cant wait to see what you all come up with from the box of goodies from Heike.

Jumping around again, this is the LO using NO pp I did for over at 3AS. The other criteria for this particular challenge was buttons and scallops.

Another 3AS challenge ... you may recall from a few posts back my set of PINK cards and a PINK LO, well this is my PINK OTP effort.

Back to Divas and the October "scraplift the diva" ... this is my version from Karen's lovely sample. The only thing that's missing is blanket stitch around part of the top and right edges. I didn't have any black thread at the time (but now I do so I'd better finish it LOL).

Now for some recent photos ... in fact, Wednesday 28th Novebemer 2008. The harvest at our property ... all done in 1 day. It's a very sad harvest this year, we just didn't get the spring rain to finish it off as we say, so there just isn't the yield (quantity) or quality there.

This is our house through the heat haze ...

We grow canola, oats, barley and wheat (which is harvested in that order usually). At this time of the year we should only be finishing the canola, not looking at being nearly finished the whole lot. It's really sad, disappointing, stressful, worrying ... but hey, we just keep on keeping on. You cant just lay down and die.

But I digress ... back to scrapping.

Hi bloggers, nothing exciting happening in my world atm, how about yours?
School holidays finish this weekend but it hasn't really been much different around here except that DD hasn't had preschool and my day care mum has been away so the kids haven't been to day care for the last 2 Fridays. All back to normal this week though.

Last week I spent 2 days in bed, sick as a dog with a really bad dose of the flu and a chest infection. It sure knocked me around but I dragged myself to the Dr and got some antibiotics which thankfully worked quickly and I was up and about a day later. Now I'm just battling my allergies, constant sinus and itchy eyes. Fun ... not :( !!!

I've managed some creating in the last few weeks which has been good so here's a quick share ...

This first LO is for a quick little comp over at Scrapz.biz - we had to create a LO using the following "recipe" -
* 2 photos
* something from the kitchen
* recycled lettering
* journalling card

After a bit of umming and ahhing I came up with this page which I quite like actually. Used Teresa Collins pp's and journalling card, some scraps of Sassafras Lass pp, part of a Weetbix box and my recycled lettering is the outline of some BG alpha stickers I cut around. Journalling is about how Ciaran usually starts the day with Weetbix, demanding them almost the moment he's up and out of bed.

This page is for Divas monthly colour challenge set by the lovely Karen who is our Guest Design Team member for Oct/Nov/Dec. Her theme is "white & bright" so I've used the cute new Sassafras Lass range of pp's from the Divas shop.

I also created another page using more of the same pp while I was on a role.

This page is what I came up with for the Divas Chinese Whispers "challenge" we recently put up. The idea is that we create a LO using instructions "whispered" to us from the previous person, then "whisper" to the next person etc. We've now been through everyone on the list so all our LO's are revealed, and boy, are there some big differences. It was a fun and interesting challenge though. We might run it again soon.

Over at Savvy, I joined in the Scraplift Round Robin which was great fun. The idea is to scraplift the LO from the person before you, and so on down the list. Lisa has just posted everyone's LO in order and it is fascinating to see where it all started and where it changed etc.

Finally I've been chatting over at 3 Angels Scrapping again and doing the "pink" challenge - Jo challenged us to make a set (3) of pink cards, then added an extra challenge to creat a pink LO and pink OTP ... so far I've made the cards ...

... and this LO of our gorgeous neice Lacey. Lots of pink and pretty stuff there dont you think?

And now I have some ideas in my head for a pink OTP project ... stay tuned.

World Card Making Day 09

My mojo has been on fire this long weekend ... at least on the card making front :)

To kick off things at Scrapbook Divas I posted a quick card challenge here followed by a Waterfall Card challenge. And this is my first ever attempt at a waterfall card! I have been eyeing them off for ages but never made myself sit and to it. Well WCMD was the excuse I needed and they are really quite easy.

I used this YouTube tutorial and this SplitCoastStampers tutorial as well.

These next 2 cards I whipped up for the challenge I set (see above) - used Kaisercraft white cards, SU pp, Fiskars border punch, Bazzill swiss dots c/s, Kaisercraft flowers and buttons. Oh and instead of a rubon (which was one of the criteria) I cheated and used a clear sticker LOL.

Another card "just because" this time using the lovely new BG Indian Summer pp from Divas. Michelle gave me some samples at the retreat last weekend including the oh-so-pretty and delicate "lace" die cut papers. Exquisite ... Diva Rach has created some totally gorgeous things with her goodies too. I must get some LO's done with them soon.

And over at Scrapz.biz the DT girls put up heaps of great card making challenges and gorgeous samples over the weekend.

This last card is my efforts at Mel's Ladybird card challenge - they are super cute and SOOOO easy to make - punch 3 scalloped circles, fold them in half and glue them together ... da-dah!!!

So that's my weekend of card making. I've done a LO today for Karen's October colour challenge over at Divas and am half way through another LO, just because. But I need to get on with dinner now (damn this DLS, it's way too early for dinner yet the clock is telling me it is ... summer is downright painful with DLS ... sorry, rant over now).

Retreat ... been & gone

Despite my family being sick, I was still able to attend my first ever retreat with "Camp Cropalott" down in the Hawksbury Valley near Wisemans Ferry last weekend. And what a great weekend it was. Lots of fun and laughter, good food and drink but the best was scrapping with my Diva friends.

Here's my gorgeous friend Michelle, owner of Scrapbook Divas who I haven't seen since February 2008. We chat so much via e-mail and in the forum that we just picked up where we left off as we sat beside each other and scrapped away. Mwah to you my friend.

And here's the Diva forum girls ... the gorgeous Nat, Dannielle, Michelle, yours truly and Karen. It is so good to meet you all in real life.

And here's the LO's I completed at the retreat, not many but good for me, especially considering I didn't get there til 8pm-ish Friday night and left at lunch time Sunday.

The LO's with the circles are all from a Divalicious Kit and I scraplifted Mel's gorgeous sample pages (thanks my friend).

Sorry, blogger isn't being nice to me today with uploads so I've had to put these last 2 LO's in a new post.

I treated myself to some relatively new BG stuff from the lovely Heike at Scrapz.biz recently when she had a sale on BG ... this is the Lemonade range of pp's, stickers and felt embellies.

A double spread ... rare for me I know, I do them occasionally, probably not often enough LOL.

And a birthday page for our little princess ...

Next weekend I'm off to a retreat with my dear friend Michelle (owner of Divas) and a rather large contingent of Divas girls too, down at Wisemans Ferry. I am super excited ... but haven't packed a thing yet LOL, not even organised any page kits ... best get on to that or I'll be throwing my entire stash in the back of the car ...

And to finish on a very happy note ... check out p. 111 of the latest issue of SBM magazine (Vol.11 No.8) ... my girl has had her LO published!!! YAY at long last ... it was accepted some 14 months ago mind you - she did the page when she was almost 3 and she's now turned 5 ... go figure. But hey, it's there on the page and I am one very proud mummy!!!

And I'm sorry about the pics uploading sideways ... dunno what blogger is doing to them???

This is a fridge magnet photo frame which was one of Rach's challenges for us at last week's Crazy Crop over at Divas.

I made the fish myself - cut them out of blue paper, inked the edges and cut a fin and mounted it on d/s foam tape then put dots of dimensional magic over them for "scales".

This next LO of my DH is based on a sketch Rach provided for the CC as well.

Our baby turned 5 recently. OMG can you believe it??? Here she is at her "Butterflies & Fairies" party, complete with pricess dress and bling LOL (oh, and the obligatory tomato sauce around her mouth).

The cake is my attempt at a fairy's house, kind of like a toadstool I guess. It's from the WW Kids Cake book. I had to borrow some pudding basins from my lovely neighbour and it was a little on the wobbly side but the birthday girl was happy with it.

And here's a Fathers Day snap I managed with 3 unco-operative males ... FIL, son and DH.

As for scrapping I do have quite a few things to share ... NEXT TIME hehehe ... !!!

Sorry, life has just been busy and then the kids and I were away for 10 days visiting my family and friends in Brisbane.

I've done a bit of scrapping but I'll do another post with pics of my creations.

While in Brisy I went to the Scrapbook Expo, had a lovely few hours wandering around with my Mum, hunted out some bargains, got some ideas and inspiration, and generally sussed out what's hot or new these days.

I was good, didnt spend too much although I've now blown the budget with a big box of goodies I've just ordered from Michelle at Scrapbook Divas during her "EOFYS" (end of financial year SALE). I just couldn't resist the bargains. Make sure you check it out because stock is selling fast. There's up to 60% off so it's a HUGE sale.

There's also lots of challenges and swaps happening in the forum ATM, there is no excuse for "scrappers block" here, I promise. Now I just need to find time to scrap.

Anyway, back to our time in Brisbane. My parents loved spending time with the kids, watching them play, and playing with them. We had quite a few trips to the park, a day out down the coast where we played on the beach, had a paddle, had fish & chips for lunch then went fishing with Grandad - and both kids caught a few little fish each. Mum and I took the kids to Alma Park Zoo for the day which we all really enjoyed - we patted a koala, baby croc and snake (I passed on the snake though, just couldn't do it). And my best friend, Tanya, and I had time together over a long lunch at a cafe where they have a special kids indoor/outdoor play area, fully supervised. With willing babysitters on hand (aka my parents LOL) I had a girls night out with Tanya, and we also went to Carl Barron - boy that man is a crack up, so funny.

Poor Marty missed us all like crazy though and the weather was miserable back home for much of the time so he wasn't flat out working, he had time to sit at home and mope. The kids and I had a wonderful time away of course, but it's always nice to come home.

Another quick share

Just some of my recent LO's ... have done some cards too but I haven't got time to put them up today as well, sorry :( LOL.

This first LO is "just because" ... I found these pp's in my stash, dug out some old alpha stickers, rubons and epoxy embellies and whacked this together rather quickly. I dont mind it.

I have wanted to do a canvas for ages so finally pulled out this old BG line of pp and matching die cut stickers and again, whacked this up in one night. Easy peasy when everything is pre-cut for you LOL. Added some kindy glitz and it was done. DH even likes it too :)

This LO is for the National Scrapbook Day challenge over at SBT50 - could only use 1 piece of c/s and scraps of pp, and yes it looks like a few big pieces but I promise it came from my scraps box. I even made the flowers.

And finally, this LO is for Scraplift the Master over at Divas this month.

Welcome to our beautiful new neice - Lacey Bridget - born 11:12pm Monday 4th May - 7lb 6oz.
Congratulations to my SIL Sharon & BIL Norman and our 2 nephews, Henry and Clancy - finally, you have your longed-for little girl. We are so thrilled for you.

I plan on scrapping a little something for her soon - must get some pics developed :)

And this one is "just because" ... isn't it great to do those LO's? I wanted to use up the Crate Paper "Mia" range I still had sitting there. Also made some cards (card-lifted) that Mel had made and were featured in an issue of a Cardmaking mag I got the other week using the same range. The glitter die cuts make it so quick and easy. I haven't got around to taking pics of those though.

I'll have more creations to share next time ... all the May challenges are now up at Divas, there's lots of ideas I want to try over at 3AS and some cool challenges also over at Savvy.

Best get back to my scrap desk then 'eh.
